The short answer
A certified translation costs $39 for the first 250 words of each file into English, or $49 into another language, plus $0.116 for every word after that. A 600-word document into English is $39 + 350 x $0.116 = $79.60. Rush delivery adds 50% for 6-8 hours or 100% for 1-3 hours. The certificate of accuracy is included.
How the price is worked out
Each file you upload is priced on its own, from its word count:
- The first 250 words of a file cost $39 when translated into English from another language, and $49 for any other direction, such as English into Spanish.
- Every word after 250 costs $0.116, whatever the language pair. That is $29 for each further 250 words.
- Rush delivery multiplies the translation price: x1.5 for 6-8 hours, x2 for 1-3 hours. Standard delivery is 24 hours for most documents.
- The signed certificate of accuracy is included. Notarization, when a body asks for it, is $19 extra.
Worked examples
| Document | Words | Direction | Price |
|---|---|---|---|
| Birth certificate | 180 | into English | $39 |
| Diploma and transcript (one file) | 900 | into English | $114.40 |
| Power of attorney | 1,000 | English into Spanish | $136 |
| Three bank statements (three files) | 3 x 400 | into English | $169.20 |
The last example shows why it matters how files are split. Three files of 400 words each are each priced from the first-page rate. The same 1,200 words in one file would cost $149.20.
How to count the words
Count every word the translator has to translate: the body text, stamps, seals, handwritten notes and printed form labels. A one-page civil certificate usually has 150-300 words. A scanned document cannot be counted by a word processor; our quote page reads the file and counts the words for you, which is the count you are charged for.
What is not in this price
Apostilles, mailed hard copies and notarization are separate services. Business and technical projects of many thousands of words are quoted individually, with a delivery date before you pay.
