Translation for Game Studios and Publishers

Professional translation of the business and legal documents behind a game: publishing and licensing agreements, EULAs, privacy notices, ratings paperwork and press materials.

The short answer

We do not localize games or test builds. Studios and publishers use us for professional translation of their documents: publishing, distribution and IP licensing agreements with foreign partners, EULAs and privacy notices, correspondence with ratings boards (ESRB, PEGI), press kits, and visa documents for hires. Quebec requires game software to be available in French when a French version exists.

Rules that apply

Each rule links to its source. Checked 4 November 2026. Rules change, so confirm with the office that will receive your documents.

What studios and publishers send us

  • Publishing and distribution agreements with publishers and platforms abroad.
  • IP licences and co-development contracts, often with Japanese, Korean or Chinese partners.
  • Player-facing legal documents: EULAs, terms of service, privacy notices, refund policies, delivered as documents for your team to publish.
  • Ratings and regulatory correspondence: decisions and questions from foreign rating boards or regulators, translated so your team can respond.
  • Press kits, store descriptions and pitch decks sent as documents.
  • Hiring: diplomas and experience letters of developers you sponsor for visas.

Licensing deals across languages

Licensing and co-development contracts with Asian partners are often bilingual, and the two versions drift during negotiation. Translate each draft in full, keep the clause numbering, and make sure the governing-language clause names the same language in both versions. Territories, platforms, revenue shares, milestones, IP ownership and termination are the clauses that cause disputes; we translate them exactly and flag wording that reads differently in the two versions.

Player-facing legal documents

EULAs and privacy notices are contracts and legal notices. For EU players, privacy information must be clear and plain in their language; for Quebec, French versions of the game and its standard-form terms are expected. We translate the documents; your team publishes them in the game, store and website.

Ratings correspondence

When a foreign rating board or regulator asks about content, its letter and any decision need an accurate English translation, and your response may need translating back. We translate the correspondence; the ratings submission itself remains your team's work.

Press and pitch materials

Press kits, fact sheets and pitch decks for foreign publishers are translated from the document you send. Game, character and place names stay as your team has set them.

Investors, studios and acquisitions

Studios raising money or being acquired across borders produce due-diligence material in other languages: corporate registrations, shareholder agreements, employment and contractor agreements with IP assignments, and financial statements. For a buyer, the IP assignment clauses matter most, since they show the studio owns what it sells; we translate them exactly and keep the original clause numbering for counsel.

Hiring developers from abroad

Studios sponsoring developers for visas file diplomas, transcripts and experience letters with USCIS, each with a certified translation. Experience letters should describe duties and dates; we translate them in full with the employer's details as printed.

What we don't do

We do not localize games: no in-game text or string-file work, no linguistic testing in builds, no voice-over, no font or UI engineering, no ratings submissions. We translate the documents you send us.
